Have You Seen the Bad Beat Jackpot at BetOnline Poker?

Bad Beat Jackpot at BetOnline PokerLast week, the prize pool for the Bad Beat Jackpot at BetOnline Poker smashed through the half million dollar barrier – and it is still growing quickly.

BetOnline Poker launched its Bad Beat Jackpot last December and initially seeded the prize pool with $100,000. The promotion captured the imagination of the site´s cash game players, and the prize pool grew quickly until it was won for almost $392,000 in February.

The site re-seeded the prize pool and let players have another go at winning a life-changing amount. However, nearly three months after it was last won, BetOnline Poker´s Bad Beat Jackpot remains intact and is currently worth more than $560,000.

Naturally, the opportunity to bank a massive score is driving plenty of action to BetOnline Poker, and the site has made it easier for players to get a slice of the action by recently launching a mobile poker app. Two further incentives are also having an impact on the rate at which the Bad Beat Jackpot is growing – the site´s $10,000 weekly cash race and the BetOnline Poker bonus.

How to Win the Bad Beat Jackpot at BetOnline Poker

In order for the Bad Beat Jackpot to be won, one player has to lose a hand with Quad Jacks or better. He or she must use both hole cards in the losing hand, the hand must go to showdown, and at least four players must have been dealt into the hand. If these conditions are met, the Bad Beat Jackpot is distributed in the following ratios:

  • The player losing the hand wins 35% of the Bad Beat Jackpot.
  • The player winning the hand gets 17.5% of the Bad Beat Jackpot.
  • The other players dealt into the hand share 17.5% of the Bad Beat Jackpot.
  • The remaining 30% of the prize pool goes towards seeding the next Bad Beat Jackpot.

When the Jackpot was last won in February, player “ONEnDONE” had his Quad Jacks beaten by the Quad Aces of player “HslHoff”. “ONEnDONE” picked up $137,177 for losing the hand, “HslHoff” added $68,589 to his bankroll, and the seven other players dealt into the hand each won $9,795 for being in the right place at the right time.

With the BetOnline Bad Beat Jackpot almost 45% higher now than when it was last won in February, the prize for the player losing a qualifying hand today would be just short of $200,000! You can try to win the Jackpot at specially designated Texas Hold´em poker cash game tables with blinds of $0.50/$1.00 and higher; and, if you think a win like this could never happen to you, check this out.

The player who benefitted the most from the last Bad Beat Jackpot – “ONEnDONE” – only funded his account with $100 four days before winning the Jackpot. It took just over two weeks for his first withdrawal request to reach his bank account. The excellent customer service and fast payout is typical of BetOnline Poker – which is why we rate it in our reviews as one of the top US-friendly poker sites.

Mobile Accessibility Drives the Action in the Cash Race

Last month, BetOnline Poker launched mobile apps for Android and Apple devices, and the impact to the volume of cash game traffic has been fantastic. Nowhere has this been more noticeable than in the site´s cash race promotion – a three tiered promotion offering players of all bankroll levels the chance to share in $10,000 each week.

The cash race is a leaderboard-style promotion, with points being awarded on the leaderboard according to how much each player contributes to the rake deducted from cash game pots. The lower tier allows players at stake levels of $0.10/$0.25 to $0.50/$1.00 to win up to $500 each week, while more valuable prizes exist in the $1.00/$2.00 to $2.00/$4.00 tier and $3.00/$6.00 to $5.00/$10.00 tier.

There is no need to opt into this promotion. Each player´s points are awarded automatically and prizes are credited to winning players´ accounts each Monday. The leaderboard is updated in (almost) real time, so players can keep up-to-date with the points they need to earn in order to bank extra cash each week. The cash is available to withdraw at once as there are no clearing requirements.
