Party Poker to Host $10 Million Knockout Series

$10 Million Knockout Series at Party PokerStarting next weekend, Party Poker is going to host a 76-event series of the site´s popular Progressive Knock Out (PKO) tournaments with $10 million guaranteed in prize money. Players of all bankrolls are invited to take part in the series, as buy-ins range from $1.10 to $5,200.

Progressive Knock Outs are tournaments in which approximately half of the buy-in is allocated as a bounty on each player´s head. When you knock out an opponent, half of their bounty is awarded to you as a prize, with the other half being added to the bounty on your own head.

One of the reasons Progressive Knock Out tournaments are so popular is that you can win a significant amount of money before the event reaches the bubble. By knocking out two players, you are assured of your buy-in back; and, if you eliminate a player who has quickly accumulated a large bounty on their head, you can win multiple times your buy-in very quickly.

Towards the end of a Progressive Knock Out tournament, the bounties are substantial. If you knock out a player at the Final Table, the likelihood is you will win as much money for knocking them out as you would for finishing in one of the top positions. The eventual winner keeps their bounty – typically doubling or trebling the first place prize money.

Progressive Knock Out Tournaments at Party Poker

Party Poker hosts “Bounty Hunter” Progressive Knock Out events every couple of hours. The tournaments have buy-ins to suit all bankrolls – Micro ($1.10/$2.20), Low ($5.50/$11.00), Mid ($22.00/$55.00) and High ($109.00/$215.00) – and several times a week the site caters for High Rollers with Bounty Hunter tournaments that have buy-ins of $530 or $1,050.

Each Bounty Hunter tournament has a guaranteed prize pool; and – from next Sunday (25th February) – Party Poker will be increasing the guarantees for selected Bounty Hunter tournaments to create a special $10 million guaranteed KO Series. The series runs for one week only (until Sunday 4th March) and features seventy-six events – including three with million dollar prize pools.

More about Party Poker´s KO Series

Each day throughout the series, a minimum of four events will be starting simultaneously at 3:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m., 9:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. (all times GMT). Typically events starting earlier in the day will have a slower structure, while those being played later in the day will have a fast or turbo structure. There is also a fairly equal division between 6-max events and full ring tournaments.

The tournaments with million dollar guarantees take place on:

  • Sunday 25th February @7:00 p.m. – (KO Series #03-H) buy-in $215.00
  • Sunday 4th March @7:00 p.m. – (KO Series #38-H) buy-in $215.00
  • Sunday 4th March @7:00 p.m. – (KO Series #38-SHR) buy-in $5,200.00.

Players can take advantage of Party Poker´s satellite schedule to qualify for the million dollar events or compete in one of three “Championship” Bounty Hunter tournaments taking place at the same time with exceptional guarantees of their own:

  • Sunday 4th March @7:00 p.m. – (KO Series #38-Mi) buy-in $2.20/guarantee $20,000.
  • Sunday 4th March @7:00 p.m. – (KO Series #38-L) buy-in $11.00/guarantee $50,000.
  • Sunday 4th March @7:00 p.m. – (KO Series #38-M) buy-in $55.00/guarantee $100,000.

At the same time, there will be three Ladies KO tournaments getting under way with buy-ins of $5.50 (guarantee $2,000), $22.00 (guarantee $5,000) and $109.00 (guarantee $10,000). If you are a female poker player with the aggressive playing style needed to succeed in KO tournaments, Party Poker is definitely the place to be on the evening of Sunday 4th March.

Party Poker the Ideal Venue for KO Tournaments

In our review we make the comment that the standard of play Party Poker is generally loose. That´s pretty much the type of game you need to play if you are going to succeed in Progressive Knock Out tournaments – particularly in the lower buy-in events, the 6-Max events and in those with shorter levels – making Party Poker the ideal venue for KO tournaments.

If you have yet to experience the standard of play at Party Poker, we invite you to register for an account using the Party Poker promo code “THPOBONUS” in order to be eligible for a 100% bonus on your first deposit up to $500/€325/£250. Our Party Poker promo code page explains how easy it is to clear the first deposit bonus, and how you can benefit from up to 40% cashback at the same time.

Certainly now is a good time to be playing at the site. Following the KO Series, Party Poker will be launching an MTT leaderboard competition awarding players tickets towards its $20 million guaranteed MILLIONS Online tournament next December. The site will also be revising its MTT schedule to give players more choice and bigger guarantees. There are some very exciting times ahead at Party Poker, so – if you are not already playing at the site – register for an account today.
