Ignition Poker to Host $250K Guaranteed Event on Sept 17

Ignition Poker's $250,000 Tournament (GTD)Ignition Poker has announced it will host a $250,000 guaranteed tournament on September 17 and is supporting the event with a stack of low buy-in qualifiers.

There is a perception among the poker-playing community that Ignition Poker is not a site associated with valuable tournaments. Some players believe that, because Ignition Poker is massively popular with recreational players, the high buy-in events don´t exist. Other players shy away from the site because their game-enhancing software is of no benefit to them on Ignition´s anonymous tables.

This perception is not entirely accurate. Ignition Poker pays out more than $1.5 million each week in guaranteed tournaments and has a hugely popular Sunday feature event guaranteeing a $100,000 prize pool. Now, less than a month after finishing its super successful “Super Millions Poker Open” series, the site has announced a $250,000 guaranteed event on Sunday September 17.

Low Buy-In Qualifiers to Support $250K Event

The $250,000 guaranteed event gets underway at 5:00pm (all times ET) on Sunday September 17. It has the same structure as the regular Sunday feature (that will also be running that day at 4:00pm), and has a direct buy-in of $325.00. The direct buy-in is a bit steep for most players at Ignition Poker, so the site is hosting dozens of low buy-in qualifiers offering a variable number of seats for the target event.

The satellites offering the best ROI are the “cheap seat” satellites taking place each evening at 7:00pm. These qualifiers have a buy-in of just $7.70 and each guarantees five seats to the $250K event. Players who like to leave it until the last minute to satellite into major tournaments will want to play in the “cheap seat” satellite in Sunday 17 at 12:00 noon that guarantees twenty-five seats for the target event.

Further $11.00 buy-in satellites take place at 6:00pm each evening. These guarantee one seat into the $250K event except over the coming weekend (September 9 & 10), when each 6:00pm satellite will guarantee three seats into the target event. There are also $22.00 buy-in turbo satellites running each evening at 11:00pm – each guaranteeing one seat into the target event.

Escalating Satellites Offer further Opportunities

Players who prefer to qualify in smaller fields may be interested in the $44.00 buy-in “escalating satellites” (our name for them, not Ignition´s). These qualifiers take place each night at 9:00pm and guarantee one seat more each night than the previous night (which is why we have called them “escalating”). For example:

  • Last night´s 9:00 pm satellite guaranteed one seat to the target event.
  • Tonight´s 9:00pm satellite guarantees two seats to the target event.
  • Tomorrow night´s 9:00pm satellite guarantees three seats, and so on.

The sequence concludes on Saturday 16 September when there will be a minimum of twelve seats awarded in the $250K event. There will also be a $44.00 buy-in turbo satellite at 2:30pm on the day of the event – guaranteeing a minimum of twenty-five seats and $44.00 buy-in satellites running every three hours over the weekend of 16 & 17 September right up until the start of the target event.

Avoid the Rush – Qualify Sooner rather than Later

In total, Ignition Poker is guaranteeing a minimum of 240 seats through its satellite schedule worth $72,000. However, as the bulk of these seats are being offered next week, that is likely when more players will try to qualify for the target event. You can beat the rush by visiting Ignition Poker today and starting your qualification quest while the satellites are relatively quiet.

Please note, although this tournament – and its supporting qualification schedule – is being advertised by Ignition Poker and Bodog Poker, it does not appear to be available on Bovada Poker. If you are currently playing at Bovada Poker from the US and would like your chance to share in the $250,000 guaranteed prize pool, create an account today and take advantage of Ignition’s $1,000 poker bonus.
