Ignition Kicks Off $3.5 Million GTD Golden Spade Poker Open
Posted onIgnition Poker’s popular Golden Spade Poker Open (GSPO) with $3.5 million guaranteed began Saturday October 13 and will run through November 8.
A total of 119 tournaments are on the schedule of the 2018 GSPO during the 27-day run. There are a wide range of buy-ins during the series, running the gamut from $27.50 to $450, promising action for players of practically all budget sizes.
Players who happen to find the direct buy-ins too high can always take advantage of tons of satellites that are running virtually round the clock. There are also a large variety of satellite entry fees, such as $4.40 and $7.70 on the low end.
If those satellite buy-ins are still too pricey, then take a shot at the popular $1 Cheap Seats event that sends winners on to the next satellite tournament. There are a number of Cheap Seats satellites running daily at Ignition Poker.
Main Event
The GSPO featured tournament is the $350,000 guaranteed Main Event that will take place on Sunday, November 4 at 5:06 p.m. ET. The buy-in for the Main Event is $450, with plenty of options available to qualify at a small fraction of that entry fee.
While the Main Event tends to grab most of the attention, shrewd players may want to keep an eye on the $100,000 GTD Mini Main Event scheduled at 2:06 p.m. on the same day. The buy-in is a much more affordable $109 and payouts have been expanded to the top 20% of the field, making it a little bit easier to finish in the money and earn a payday.
Loyal MTT players at Ignition will also want to take note of the fact that a select number of regular Sunday tournaments will have increased guarantees during the GSPO series. That’s added value that may result in some generous overlays.
Special Bonuses
Also noteworthy for Ignition regulars is the special Tell A friend Bonus that can add $200% up to $100 to your bankroll for referring your buddy. Once your friend signs on and makes a deposit, you become eligible to collect the bonus.
There is also a Welcome Bonus waiting for players who have yet to play at Ignition Poker. A full $2,000 in bonus money is available. The $2K is split down the middle, with $1,000 reserved for casino play and the other $1,000 for poker.
Of course, poker players don’t have to venture into the Ignition Casino and can simply collect the $1,000 bonus in the poker room after accumulating the required number of points by playing poker. Players have a full 30 days in which to accrue the points needed to collect the Welcome Bonus.
Ignition accepts credit cards and the world’s top crypto-currency, Bitcoin, for making deposits. (If you have no idea what I am talking about, you can find more information in our Bitcoin poker guide). Ignition Poker is currently the top-ranked poker site for US-based recreational poker players, made possible by anonymous tables that tend to keep away the more skilled players.
Keep in mind also that Ignition Poker is now accessible for cell phone and tablet users. Players who are on the move can log on and participate in the GSPO, as well as the large number of cash games running every day.
