Americas Cardroom Unlocks the Cage

Posted on by Roy Smith

Americas Cardroom Unlocks the CageA massive new event has been announced by Americas Cardroom – a multiplayer “cash game tournament” called the Cage which has a buy-in of just $5,000!

Americas Cardroom is frequently coming up with innovative and fascinating promotions, and “The Cage” promises to be another – despite its eye-popping buy-in of $5,000!

The Cage is a 6-Max multitable tournament that will be played over three hours on 8th October, with increasing blinds, no re-buys and no re-entries allowed.

It is guaranteed to be an intriguing event to watch and, due to a satellite schedule with buy-ins starting at $1.50, it is an event that all Americas Cardroom players can take part in.

No Hiding Place in the Cage

The format of the Cage is that each player will start with 5,000 chips – one chip for each dollar of the buy-in – and, over the next three hours, attempt to build their stack to the maximum possible while the blinds increase each hour.

The blind structure means that there will be no hiding place in the Cage for the duration of the event, and players who play too tight might just find themselves blinded out of the tournament by Level 3:

  • Level 1: Blinds $10/$20 with a $2 ante
  • Level 2: Blinds $25/$50 with a $5 ante
  • Level 3: Blinds $50/$100 with a $10 ante

At the end of the three-hour tournament, players with chip stacks still in front of them will be able to convert their chips for cash, which will be instantly credited to their Americas Cardroom accounts.

Get into the Cage for Just $1.50

Ironically, in our review of Americas Cardroom, we recommend the site for all types of players provided you choose your tables carefully and avoid the stronger players on the site. Now you can have the opportunity to play against them for massive amounts of money, but for the risk of losing just $1.50.

Americas Cardroom is giving every one of its players to enter the Cage with a comprehensive satellite structure that starts with sub-qualifiers that have a buy-in of just $1.50. Throughout the day sub-qualifiers with a buy-in of $1.50 and $5.00 guarantee seats into a daily qualifier (at 17:30pm) in which seats can be won into a weekly final (Wednesdays at 19:30pm).

The daily and the weekly finals can also be bought into directly (for $30.00 and $300.00 respectively) with a minimum of one seat being guaranteed in the weekly final into the Cage event on October 8th. Players should be aware that seats won in the qualifiers have no cash redemption value and the seat is not transferable to somebody who is better than you at playing poker!

It´s Time to Pound and Ground the Online Poker Tables

In a press release announcing the Cage event, ACR´s spokesperson Michael Harris was quoted as saying It´s time to pound and ground the online poker tables. He indicated that several well-known and respected high stakes cash players had expressed an interest in the Cage and said We´re raising the stakes with an unbelievable poker cash game that´s designed for players who are in it to win it.

Full details of the Cage can be found on the Americas Cardroom website, while sub-qualifiers are already open for registration in the poker client. Whoever turns up to pound and ground on October 8th, the Cage is certain to be compulsive viewing from the rail – unless, of course, you have qualified for the event through the satellite program, in which case we wish you the very best of luck!
